I am not surprised by the first, knew the second was a known hazard of football, but I’m not sure how they are connected
basically in brain injury claims you need to prove lower cognitive function after the injury but with black players they used to waive that away by saying “oh theyre already dumb because theyre black” basically.
reminds me of an issue that came up durring discussions on programming the AI of self driving cars- once you actually force corporations put human value into numerical terms a lot of things people dont notice suddenly get exposed for how heinous they really are and have been for too long
